Description from the seller
Cor Schaap (1968) is a painter, born and raised in the Dutch fishing village of Katwijk aan Zee. Just a short distance from the sea, he works on his oil paintings, which mainly focus on local and regional subjects. His work is created both in the studio and en plein air, depicting scenes from the present and the past.
Schaaps' oeuvre consists of sunny, characterful beach scenes—each different and unique—and powerful sea views, in which he has increasingly specialized over the past few years. These maritime works are now also gaining international interest. They are sold through renowned galleries, including Galerie Gabriëls on Noordeinde in The Hague (since 1974).
The artwork offered here depicts a particularly charming and sunny beach scene near the Witte Kerk of Katwijk. It is executed in oil on panel and comes with a matching, handcrafted light frame. A atmospheric little painting that radiates light and cheerfulness and is ready to hang on the wall.
