The vase has a bulbous shape that tapers toward a
a narrow pointed opening at the top.
and has incised circular lines around the neck of the vase.

The finish is glossy and reflects light, indicating an iridescent or lustre-type glaze.
It is a decorative earthenware or ceramic item.
Stamped in clay: monogram designer
Design & execution by Ardine Spitters (1953 - ), in her own studio
Height: 30 cm, depth 20 cm

The technique for making this vase is also called 'Pitfire'.
Lathe work, heated in sawdust ovens.
After the work is finished, polished and fired at 1050°,
is it treated with sulfates and baked for the second time;
now in a sawdust oven. This technique is also called pit fire.
Due to the combination of heat, smoke, and sulfates, intriguing color variations arise,
which, among other things, remind one of marble and stone.
The vase is finished in a beautiful orange-brown color.
