Side table - Wood - Handcrafted side table

Beautiful, solid hand-carved wooden stool or side table of African origin, made in dark hardwood. The piece has a hexagonal shape and is richly decorated with openwork figurative and geometric woodcarving.
The sides show stylized human/mask-like figures, while the top is adorned with a central, abstract facial motif, surrounded by geometric patterns. This type of decoration is often associated with symbolism around protection, ancestors and status within diverse West African traditions.
