Five exceptionally rare cloak hooks from the early 'Holland's Golden Age' (16th century). Infrequently displayed and richly decorated clothing accessories! Material: tin. The iron hooks have corroded away. These objects come from deeply buried soil layers in or near Rotterdam. They were brought to the surface during excavation activity by metal detector amateurs. These 5 pieces entered the 'Gesink Collection' in the 1990s. Depicted in several books. 'Handbook for Detectorists' from 2005 (p. 277). Also in 'Handbook for Metal Detector Seekers' 2022 (pp. 259 and 262).
