Cristallerie Saint-Louis – Opal glass vase with floral decoration
Rare vase in blue opaline glass, produced between 1861 and 1870 by the prestigious Cristallerie Saint-Louis in France.
This refined object demonstrates Saint-Louis's mastery in working with opal glass, a technique that in the 19th century was particularly beloved by the French court circles and the aristocracy.
The vase is richly decorated with inlaid floral and leafy relief motifs, typical of the graceful, romantic style of this era. The soft, milky luster and vivid blue hue enhance the overall elegance.
Saint-Louis, founded in 1586 and the oldest crystal house in France, became a royal warrant supplier from the 18th century and remains to this day synonymous with luxury and craftsmanship.
