Description from the seller
In the Cubist Still Life work created by the artist E. Pérez Lezcano, it is conceived as a contemporary still life. It was proposed to go beyond the representation of the object to turn it into a territory of pictorial experimentation. The fruits, the bottles, and the table are not here mere recognizable elements, but formal pretexts that allow me to investigate color as living, changing, and emotional matter.
The process was guided by the search for new chromatic blends, combining classic tones with unexpected nuances, layering layers and modulating transitions so that color not only describes, but breathes and dialogues within the composition. Each zone of the canvas is a conscious test: contrasts that tense, harmonies that break and rebuild, and fields of color that find balance through rhythm.
Texture plays an essential role in this exploration. I alternate smooth surfaces with others that are denser, letting gesture and material reveal the process, without concealing it. I want the spectator to experience the painting not as a closed image, but as a space of construction, where form arises from trial, error, and intuition.
Formally, the work is structured through simplified volumes and organic geometries that dialogue with one another. These forms, far from being rigid, adapt and flow, reflecting my interest in rethinking the tradition of still life from a contemporary language, where the classical and the contemporary coexist without hierarchies.
This piece is, essentially, an exercise in intimate research: a place where color, form, and texture become tools to understand my own creative process and to continue pushing the boundaries of my pictorial language.
