Description from the seller
Country, acrylic on canvas, 60 x 90 cm
The artwork depicts a Mediterranean-inspired village, seen from within, where the houses are closely packed as if sharing stories, warmth, and silence. The main street runs through the painting with a gentle, natural flow, guiding the viewer into the heart of the village and creating a strong sense of depth.
The architectures are simplified, almost archetypal, but they retain a solid and familiar character. The bell tower in the background becomes the visual and symbolic reference point of the town, an element that gives identity and a sense of community to the scene.
The color choice is dominated by warm and luminous tones: yellows, oranges, and bright reds evoke the light of the South, while greens and blues balance the composition and suggest distance and breath. The intense sky, more emotional than realistic, helps create a suspended atmosphere, out of time.
The acrylic technique is handled with decisive and visible brushstrokes, which favor expression and rhythm over meticulous detail. The country is not described; it is interpreted. And it is here that the painting works: it does not depict a specific place but the very idea of a country, with its sense of belonging and tranquility.
