This is an original Sony Walkman WM-EX641, a vintage cassette player released in the late 1990s (circa 1997).
It is a Made in Japan model, highly regarded by collectors for its build quality and classic Walkman design.

The WM-EX641 belongs to Sony’s well-known EX series and represents the final mature era of cassette Walkman development, just before the transition to digital audio players.

・Pinch roller is smooth, undented, and in excellent condition
・Playback sound is clear and stable, with no excessive noise
・Play / Stop / Fast Forward / Rewind / Auto Reverse all tested over an extended period
・Forward and reverse playback speeds are stable and within acceptable tolerance
・No noticeable wow or flutter
(Measured using a 3kHz test tape)
・Volume adjustment is smooth with no scratch noise
・Original remote control and earphone output function correctly

To ensure optimal performance, please avoid using tapes longer than 90 minutes, severely deteriorated tapes, or low-quality tapes.

・Gear rotation parts re-lubricated with silicone grease

・Demagnetized using TEAC E-3 head demagnetizer
・Speed and wow & flutter adjusted using ABEX 3kHz test tape
・Take-up torque measured during playback
