# Diploma - To an Internationalist Soldier who took part in combat operations in Afghanistan.
Signatures and seals: field post office 24888.
(A very rare document, almost never seen again.)
On the first page:
- For our Soviet Motherland!

Below is the inscription:
Limited contingent of Soviet troops in the DRA.

The outline of the Republic of Afghanistan is depicted with two soldiers—one Soviet and one Afghan (some Afghans fought alongside the USSR against the Taliban)—and two flags (one Soviet and one Afghan).

Inscription: To the soldier-patriot, internationalist, being discharged into the reserves.

Inside is a text with wishes and gratitude addressed to Nikolai Nikolaevich Shambir.
Seal and signatures of the unit commanders.

The document has been damaged by age (torn, creased).

Enamel plaque – To a veteran of the 56th Guards Separate Airborne Assault Brigade, which took part in combat operations in Afghanistan.
** This brigade was formed in 1941 and fought in WWII,
currently fighting in Ukraine. (More on Wikipedia).

Leningrad Mint, UNC condition.
