Damien Hirst (1965) - “Third Prototype For Psalm”

Here we have a very ‘RARE’ and ‘UNIQUE’ piece of art by Damien Hirst. This piece was personally given as a Christmas card/present to Annie May and is hand written in pencil by Damien Hirst. The message is wishing her a Happy Christmas and states it’s from him and his wife Sophie. An extremely great opportunity to purchase a one of a kind very scarce artwork from this artist that is hand signed.

Here we have a beautiful coloured lithograph from Damien Hirst of one of his famous "Psalm series” this being the third prototype. "Third Prototype For Psalm" is a 2010 screenprint, part of his Psalm series, featuring vibrant colours and circular patterns inspired by religious texts and visual motifs, often appearing as a unique or limited-edition artwork. This design was used by the famous fashion house Alexander McQueen to produce a Limited Edition 'Psalm 113 Circular' Scarf In celebration of the 10th anniversary of British design house Alexander McQueen‘s iconic skull scarf, British artist Damien Hirst collaborated with the famed fashion brand in the creation of 30 limited edition scarves. The patterns were adapted from Hirst’s Entomology series, a body of work that he began in 2009. Each print was composed from the intricate placement of butterflies, spiders and various insect species in the formation of kaleidoscopic, geometric shapes. the scarves appropriate the motifs in the organizational layout of McQueen’s signature skull image, an unmistakable emblem of the brand. The partnership seamlessly played on the shared aesthetic vision of the artist and designer, in which symmetry and strong references to natural history and the environment are significant parts of their creative vision.
