Figura di monaco, a realist portrait by Scipione (1904-1933), mixed media with ink on paper from Italy, in a limited edition and signed by Scipione, measuring 57 cm by 45 cm (with frame).
Description from the seller
Scipione (Gino Bonichi) – attributed
Figure of a monk / religious.
Mixed media on paper (ink and watercolor), sepia-toned.
An interesting work depicting a religious figure in monastic habit, captured in an austere and highly evocative interior. The composition is marked by a bold, concise line, with an expressive use of monochrome fields that recalls the intense, spiritual atmosphere typical of Scipione's (Gino Bonichi) oeuvre, a prominent exponent of the Roman School.
On the right side there is a lectern with a book and a rosary, while in the background a cross appears—elements that reinforce the religious and contemplative theme of the work.
Signature 'Scipione' appears in the bottom right.
Artwork mounted in an elegant wooden frame with a mat (frame presumably not contemporary).
Condition: good, with normal signs of aging on the paper, compatible with the age of the work.
Provenance: private collection !
Shipping via Poste Italiane with insured shipping.
Dimensions with frame:
Height 57 cm
Width 45 cm
Without frame
Height 42 cm
Width 30 cm
The painting comes from a private collection; the buyer will receive an invoice for the purchase.
