DESCRIPTION
Burmese dagger. The blade in steel is slightly curved, with a flat back, and a single edge. The sheath, as well as the ferrule, are silver. The handle is bone. The cotton cord is original, which is rare. This type of dagger could be found throughout the Golden Triangle (Thailand, Laos, Burma), but I bought mine in Burma, in the Mandalay region, about twenty years ago.
This type of knife can be found in the book The People of the Golden Triangle by Mr. and Mrs. Lewis; see the last two photos.
Around the first half of the 20th century.
Total length: 18.7 cm.
