2017 Ducati Superbike Panigale R
The flagship of superbikes: the Ducati 1199 Panigale R.
This bike uses the engine from the £55,000 Superleggera to create a road-homologated race bike. Remarkably, the electronics package onboard has also made it feasible for this to function as a road bike. It features a quickshifter up and down, along with all the other benefits from the equipment found on the 1299S.

The 1199R has been developed and perfected by Ducati's Corse department for the racing world and has become more streamlined and more precise than ever.
The Superquadro engine has been enhanced with titanium connecting rods, diamond-like coating on the rocker arms, and a lighter flywheel; all of these modifications result in a nearly 1.3kg reduction in the total weight of the engine. This has enabled the rev limiter to be raised from 11,500rpm on the 1199S to 12,000rpm, and has provided an overall power increase of around 3%, with a significant 15% boost in midrange performance. The full Termignoni racing exhaust system supplied with the 1199R has contributed to this power gain.
Not only does the new 1199R feature engine upgrades, but it also addresses the increasingly demanding needs of the racetrack with a 4-position adjustable swingarm, ensuring the perfect setup every time.
The bodywork has also been upgraded with lashings of high-quality, super lightweight carbon fibre parts that help save 1.5kg in weight of the 1199S. These parts include swingarm protection, heel guards, ignition switch cover, rear shock absorber cover, front and rear mudguards, and clutch cover.
The Ducati 1199R comes standard with the same DDA+ system (Ducati Data Analyser) that allows you to study your lap times, speeds, etc., when you get back off track.
All of this, as well as Ducati Corse livery, further enhances the 1199R’s racing pedigree.
The bike has German registration documents.
