Description from the seller
The Glenfiddich Single Malt Scotch Whisky Vintage Cask
The Glenfiddich Vintage Caks is one of a total of three bottlings from "The Cask Collection", all of which were bottled without age. Like the 15-year-old Glenfiddich, the Vintage Cask also comes from a solera system, i.e. a row of casks that is replenished again and again. The casks used for the Vintage Cask are casks made of European oak and ex-bourbon casks from America. The barrels were deliberately chosen to come as close as possible to the style of Glenfiddich from the founding year 1887, when barrels made of European Eicher were still largely used. Since the whiskies at that time were also much more peaty, a good part of the Glenfiddich Vintage Cask consists of peated whisky.
This is also clearly noticeable when you smell the copper-colored Glenfiddich Vintage Cask. There are strong aromas of peat and smoke, flanked by nuances of dried fruit, oak and leather. On the palate, this single malt whisky shows a strong aroma of honey, vanilla and again smoke. Even in the medium-long finish, the peat cannot hide, but it seems much milder here than on the nose and palate!
