This is a first edition thus copy, of Hans Christian Andersen's "Fairy Tales". The copy dates from around 1900 and features eight tipped-in colour plates. The book remains in Fair condition. It would make a lovely addition to any children's illustrated library or private collection.
CONDITION & FEATURES
- Fair overall condition
- Rare book - First Edition Thus
- Decorative front board & spine
- 8 tipped-in colour plates
- Pages & plates are generally clean & straight - some staining to the Title page
- Text-block is complete except for the Front Free Endpapers and Flyleaf
- Binding and Hinges are secure - probably re-glued at the front internal hinge
- Boards are mostly straight - some minor wear to corners, minor scuffs and a white mark to the lower Front
- Spine is bright and straight - a little general wear
- Previous owner's initials to Rear Pastedown
