AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

An important and splendid inkwell from the early 1800s, made of solid, heavy brass that echoes the Rococo style, superbly engraved on all sides with a distinctive rectangular shape.
A genuine antique inkwell, difficult to find on the market due to its unique design.
It features a rectangular base, with at the corners the two inkstands placed, inside which are brass cups.
On the chiselled corners of the angels.
The central part, 19 cm long and 5 cm wide, was the place to rest the nib.
Behind the space for placing the mail, formed by two bands in chased brass. The one at the front depicts a vase with flowers, and on the sides are two angels.
This part measures 15 cm by 10 cm.
The back part is entirely a work of craftsmanship, with an angel in the center, and it is 14 cm high and 19 cm wide.
Between these two parts there is a 5 cm space to rest the mail.
I’d say a complete inkwell, different from the usual brass ones you see on the market.
The two inkstands have brass cups.
The photos are more explanatory than words.
I love objects from which the past shines through, and I’ve left it with its original patina.
If you wish, you can safely polish it, and the brass will shine like metal.
I personally love the color and the original patina when it has been kept in good condition. A few stains that attest to the years.
It can be used as a decorative object on a desk in a study, or on a bookshelf, or as a knick-knack.
It fits in an antique or modern environment.
An object so beautiful that finding a suitable place for it will not be difficult.
An antique engraving work from bygone times, whose photos are more expressive than words.
It appears in good condition; I didn’t call it excellent because of its age, but it’s a rare item to find on the market for collectors or antique dealers.
I found it at home in the study of the family palace, in the library, alongside many other inkwells of every kind and from various historical periods. I deduce that my ancestors were drawn to beauty and had works of great value and beauty made.
From the large number of certain objects, I infer that they were collectors.
I’ve kept it in the home library among the books, with the others, but since I have so many of them, instead of keeping it in a wardrobe I’ve decided to sell.
I ship with a courier rather than Poste Italiane because the item arrives sooner, has double packaging, and communication is simpler.
Shipping costs vary depending on whether the destination is Europe zone 1 or 2, such as Eastern European countries, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, or zone three, including Norway, Malta, and Cyprus, or the rest of the world, such as China, Taiwan, Japan, and the United States.
The customs duties are the responsibility of the buyer.
