I am offering for auction a large, charming 19th century oil on canvas titled The lake at sunset, featuring a pair of swans, by listed artist Joseph Wrightson McIntyre, 1841-1897. Signed bottom left. A prolific and popular artist, his paintings fetch good prices. This small restoration is well worth doing.
The painting measures 104 x 72 cm. The frame is 92 x 62 cm.
Condition of the painting is fairly good. Please view all photos for accurate condition. The painted has one area in the sky which needs attention. Please view all photos for accurate condition.
Please note. Due to the fragile nature of old frames and glass, our shippers do not provide insurance for any damage caused during transit. We go to great lengths to ensure each painting is packed and protected to a very high standard but sadly cannot compensate or refund for any damage occurring to frames or glass during transit. Therefore the frame and any glass is a gift to you with zero value and you are bidding on the artwork only.
