THE STORY BEHIND

In this landscape-format oil painting, a young woman rides a horse, although her figure is partially outside the frame, giving the animal center stage. The horse moves slowly along a soft dirt road dotted with puddles, splashing water as it walks, an effect that the artist enhances to give the scene dynamism.
