Description from the seller
Rolex - Very Rare Box 'Belt & Buckle' Ref. 71.00.04 - Large Size - Création Genève - 1970s
Up for auction, a true piece of luxury watchmaking history: the famous Rolex box named "Belt & Buckle" (Cintura e Fibbia). This model is not a simple case, but a work of art produced by Rolex's "Création Genève" division during the 1970s, intended exclusively for the brand's most prestigious references.
Technical Details and Rarity:
Reference: 71.00.04 (authenticity guaranteed by the original engraving on the bottom).
Dimensions: 20 x 15 x 8 cm. This is the "Large" version, much rarer and more sought-after than the smaller variants, as it is intended for professional and high-end models.
Design: Exterior in premium brown leather with contrasting stitching that evokes the artisanal craftsmanship of the straps. The clasp is enhanced by a splendid gold buckle that bears the iconic Rolex crown in relief.
Interior: Made entirely of high-quality natural wood, with the prestigious brand 'Création Genève Rolex' stamped in gold inside the lid.
Historical Compatibility: This specific reference has historically been associated with Rolex Day-Date models, gold Datejust models, and the legendary manually-wind Daytona (ref. 6263 / 6265) delivered with a leather strap.
Conditions: The item is in exceptionally vintage condition. The leather shows a fascinating and uniform patina, with no tears. The gold buckle is bright and the clasp mechanism is perfectly functional. The inscriptions on the bottom and inside are sharp and well preserved. A preserved piece that adds immense value to any vintage collection.
Owning a valuable vintage watch without its proper box halves the collectible appeal. This Ref. 71.00.04 box is the missing link in completing an investment set or enriching a high-end Rolex memorabilia collection.
