Description from the seller
GREAT EXHIBITION CATALOGUE BOOK by Larry Clark (LC) from 1999 (!) -
STILL ORIGINALLY SHRINK-WRAPPED IN PUBLISHER'S PLASTIC FOIL (!).
Larry Clark is maker of two of the most important photobooks ever published:
"Tulsa" and "Teenage Lust" (Martin Parr, The Photobook, vol 1, page 260).
A chilling publication from the artist who brought us "Tulsa", "Teenage Lust", and "Kids".
Larry Clark once again focuses on the issue of male youth in contemporary culture, this time using selected video clips rather than film or photographs.
Larry Clark leads us on a disturbing but seductive text-free journey via the fresh and yet troubled faces of four teenage boys; one young man describes killing his abusive father, while another recounts an affair with an older woman. However, in this book the actual story is not important. It's the rapid-fire images that matter: no text, no sound, just the lingering images of a moment in time.
Groninger Museum, Groningen. 1999. First edition, first printing.
Hardcover (as issued). 245 x 295 mm. 176 pages. 97 colour photos. Photos: Larry Clark. Text in English.
Condition:
Inside new, mint, unread. Outside super fresh; neat bump at the bottom edge of the front (with no consequence for inside), no other bumps, no other remarkable flaws or defects. Overall very fine, much better and fresher condition than usual (still originally shrink-wrapped in publisher's plastic foil).
Wonderful Larry Clark title.
Published on the occasion of the exhibition Larry Clark at the Groninger Museum in 1999.
