Description from the seller
Vintage Brutalist lounge armchair – Soft Meets Sculptural
This exceptional vintage lounge chair is a powerful example of brutalist design with a soft twist. The sculptural, solid wood frame forms an architectural base with organic lines and a rugged appearance. Over the years the wood has lightened slightly from sunlight and shows signs of use appropriate to its age, which contributes to the authentic character of this piece.
The grand seat and backrest have recently been reupholstered with a cream-colored teddy/wool-look fabric, which provides a warm and tactile contrast between hard and soft, sleek and inviting.
The result is a comfortable statement chair with a strong presence and a warm appearance, characteristic of design from the 1970s–1980s.
