The Canon New FD 35-105mm f/3.5 is one of the most appreciated zooms of the entire FD series, often described as a true “professional zoom.” Produced from the late 1970s to the early 1980s (roughly 1979–1984), it represents the pinnacle of the Canon New FD philosophy: high optical quality, compactness, and versatility.

With a constant f/3.5 aperture, it covers from moderate wide angle to mid-telephoto, making it ideal for reportage, travel, and environmental portraiture. The rendering is surprisingly sharp and contrasted, with natural colors and a very “analog” character. Robust, smooth in its rings and well balanced, it is a zoom that still today astonishes with its performance and ease of use.
