Junger Faun - NO RESERVE, a 17th-century oil painting from Italy, attributed to the Italian School, with a portrait depiction and sold with frame.
Description from the seller
Hello everyone
Everything is photographed in detail, and everything is visible in the images.
That is a very interesting and expressive image that almost speaks and never stops.
I think this image comes from Cristiano Allori. (born in Italy)
1577-1621
Italian painter
The name of the painting is: Young Faun
The last images were greatly enlarged and captured with bright light, so I could make all the details clearly visible.
Canvas structure: The interwoven fabric layers are clearly visible (this is particularly evident in the two images just before the last), which is typical of older methods of canvas production.
It is clearly evident that the canvas was glued onto the wood, presumably to better protect the canvas.
I personally found it two years ago in a long-abandoned warehouse. The warehouse contained thousands of paintings and frames of various kinds.
I believe that even seasoned art lovers will recognize it.
As you can see, it is in need of restoration because it has visible scratches. This definitely does not substantially affect the value of this rare specimen.
As already mentioned, the artist's signature is missing, and this painting doesn't even have a certificate, which means that your purchase is based solely on your experience and knowledge.
I look forward to your bids and wish you much fun and success at the auction.
