Red crystal wine glasses in the Harcourt style from Baccarat Crystal - a goblet with a flared bowl decorated with flat-cut ribs at the bottom - hexagonal foot - stem adorned with three faceted knobs -
Each piece bears the stamp "Royales de Champagne France 1666" - this stamp corresponds to the Cristallerie de Bayel - located in the village of Bayel - Côtes des Bars - in Champagne - the Aube department - with Aube being part of Champagne - this glassworks is the oldest in France - founded by Master Glassmaker Jean-Baptiste Mazzolay in 1666 by the authorization of King Louis XIV - renowned for its excellence in workmanship and the quality of crystal - it worked for major French crystal houses such as Baccarat - St Louis - Daum - Lalique - some pieces were cast in its workshops. Closed in 2016.
In this model, you can find all the hallmarks of Baccarat's Harcourt model—a true icon of the Manufacture, produced since 1841, named Harcourt in 1925, known at tables all around the world.
