Description from the seller

Memphis - Objects, Furniture & Patterns.

Contents see photo 4.

Excellent condition.

Extensively illustrated. (see photos)

The Memphis Group was a group of interior designers from the years 1981-1987, founded by Ettore Sottsass. The group opposed the strict functional rules of modernism, and their ideas would leave a lasting imprint on the look of the eighties. The style is associated with postmodernism and drew its inspiration from pop art and Art Deco.
The Memphis Group worked innovatively and challenged mainstream design. Their designs are characterized by illogical combinations of geometric shapes, bright colors, and a mix of patterns. From these came products such as the Casablanca cabinet and the Carlton cabinet.
Some well-known participants beside Ettore Sottsass were: Michele de Lucchi, Nathalie Du Pasquier, Shiro Kuramata, George Sowden, Martine Bedin, Matteo Thun, Aldo Cibic and Peter Shire,

Carefully packed and shipped with tracking and insurance.

Good luck with your bidding!!
