Description from the seller

Lot of 3 Chinese advertising posters – mid-20th century (circa 1960s–1970s)

Three vertically oriented Chinese decorative posters featuring elegant female figures in traditional and modernised attire, inspired by early 20th-century Shanghai calendar art (“yuefenpai” style). The posters combine Western advertising aesthetics with Chinese calligraphy and symbolism, typical of later reproduction prints made for interior decoration and export.

Feminine beauty, modern lifestyle, and refined domestic scenes that are expressed through qipao dresses, floral motifs, domestic interiors, traditional calligraphy, and brand cartouches.

These offset lithographic reproductions feature intriguing pastel colors that remain attractive and are well-preserved on robust paper with metal poster clips at the top and bottom.

Overall good vintage condition, some edge wear, light creases, small stains, and pin/clip marks

These posters are decorative revival pieces, produced decades after the original 1920s–1930s calendar posters, and are valued today for their nostalgic charm and strong visual appeal. The three posters are for Taiyang cigarette company, An An fabrics and Belles cigarettes.

An attractive set for collectors of Asian graphic art, vintage advertising, or mid-century interior decoration.
