In this work, SKE openly reappropriates Banksy's iconic imagery, a major figure of contemporary street art and a symbol of anonymous, engaged, and subversive art. By adopting the iconic stance of the stencil and the gesture of the red heart, the artist replaces the anonymous silhouette with Gaston, the cult character from Franco-Belgian comics.

This shift creates a new reading: Banksy’s activist anonymity confronts Gaston’s assumed innocence. Masked, spray can in hand, the character in turn becomes a clandestine actor in the urban space, blurring the boundary between popular art, activism, and mass culture.

The red heart, blazing on the rough wall, preserves its universal symbolic meaning: love, resistance, unfettered emotion. The drips, splatters, and textures reinforce the street aesthetic and the illusion of a work born in the street.

Through this appropriation, SKE questions the notion of author, signature, and message in contemporary urban art, while paying homage to one of its founding myths.

Bio Artist
SKE is a self-taught French artist and versatile creator who grew up immersed in the culture of the 80s and 90s, inspiring a large majority of his artistic works.

He constantly explores new techniques: acrylic painting, collage, stenciling, graffiti, urban installations, and digital art. His dynamic and expressive compositions, often with double meanings, blend the raw energy of street art with the visual impact of pop art.

After an exceptional year in 2025, SKE's reputation is experiencing a remarkable rise. Winner of the first prize at the Urban Master competition (2023), and later named Revelation of the Year at the Color Jam Challenge (2025).
SKE is selected as 'Artist of the Month' in October, and he also received a feature in an American art magazine, confirming his international recognition.

His works have already been exhibited in major venues in Europe, the United States, and Asia, cementing his position on the contemporary art scene. At the same time, SKE is also establishing himself in the digital artwork market, a major trend of the last two years, reinforcing the appeal of his creations among collectors.
