New Zealand is a first edition, illustrated English hardback travel volume from Adam and Charles Black (1908), 241 pages, with 75 colour plates and a folding map, illustrated by F. And W. Wright and bound in original brown cloth with Maori and Tiki designs and gilt top edges.

A fascinating travel classic book in the original cloth bindings. The book is a well presented blend of descriptive and historical material. There are an appendix and 7 chapters described by William Reeves.
The book is wonderfully illustrated with fold out map in colour at rear, and 75 striking full page colour plates, captioned on the tissue guards, by F. And W. Wright (Frank and Walter Wright taught and exhibited at Auckland's Victoria Arcade art school in the late 1880's along with Robert Atkinson, Charles Blomfield, E. W. Payton, Kennett Watkins, Louis John Steele and G. C. Goldie).
Published by Adam and Charles Black, London 1908. Publisher’s original brown cloth, decorated with Maori and Tiki design, with gilt lettering on upper cover and spine. Top page edges gilt.

Condition
The book is beautifully designed and illustrated. Firm and well bound copy. External covers in nice shape, with light wear to corners, and to head and foot of spine. Internally the book in very good condition. A name on free endpaper pages, and old inscription on first title page. Pages are clean, with occasional light foxing to the margin of few pages. Inner hinges are very good, and pages are tightly held at gutters. The text is fresh. The attractive illustrations make this a truly beautiful title (Please see pictures).
