Vacheron & Constantin Genève - 18k Gold - Cal. 453 - Rare Museum Piece (1937-1941)
Incredible specimen of high Swiss watchmaking from the prestigious manufactory Vacheron & Constantin, dating from the late 1930s (circa 1937–1941). This watch represents the essence of the classical elegance of the golden age of watch design.
Technical Specifications
Movement: Legendary in-house calibre 453 manual-winding. Finely finished with Côtes de Genève. Movement serial number: 429294
Case: solid 18k yellow gold (750), stamped on the inside of the case back. Case number: 270290
36 mm dimensions (excluding the crown), typical of the era's masculine elegance. Dial with a magnificent patina of age. It bears the correct signature "Vacheron & Constantin Genève". As is typical of pre-1950 models, it does not feature the Maltese Cross applied, a detail that confirms its true contemporaneity and historical originality.
Complications: Small seconds at 6 ("petites secondes").
Buckle: Rare original antique buckle in 18k gold.
Original antique crown.
The watch is preserved in excellent condition. The case retains its sharp lines, and the movement is clean and fully functional.
