Description from the seller
THIS IS THE FIRST BEST-OF-PHOTOBOOKS AUCTION by 5Uhr30.com, starting in 2026.
With more than 100 great lots from my personal collection and from recent acquisitions.
FANTASTIC BOOK AND SOUGHT-AFTER MONOGRAPH by the vastly under appreciated American photographer Ray K. Metzker.
Have a look at the beautiful pictures - MY HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION.
TRUE ORIGINAL FIRST ENGLISH PRINTING (published simultanously and identically in a German edition).
Urban American streetscapes, captured in black and white taken over a quarter century show Metzker pushing the technical boundaries of photography into an undefined formal realm well beyond the expected. Metker`s shots transform his subjects into visual patterns and a study in texture and pattterns and are a manifestation of his command of light and shade Whether the photographs capture people waiting to take action, or people already in motion, Metzker`s technique estrange them from the lockstep rhythm of mundane activity, and makes them stand still- just for a moment. The result is a series of photographs that demands a reinterpreptation of the city, its streetlife and its inhabitants.
This is a lot by 5Uhr30.com (Ecki Heuser, Cologne, Germany).
We guarantee detailed and accurate descriptions, 100% transport protection, 100% transport insurance and of course combined shipping - worldwide.
