Description from the seller

Masonic box / pillbox in painted porcelain – "Strength & Wisdom" – late 19th century

Description:

Beautiful and rare antique Masonic box, made of fine porcelain and hand-painted, mounted in a metal frame with a pearl decoration, dating from the late 19th to early 20th century.

The lid is adorned with explicit Masonic iconography:
the square and compasses, the five-pointed star, sprigs of foliage, and the mottos ‘STRENGTH’ and ‘WISDOM’, two of the fundamental pillars of Freemasonry.

The interior features a handwritten inscription from the period:
"Honorary Worshipful Master", most likely an object offered in the lodge, of an honorary nature, intended for a Masonic dignitary.

This is therefore a customized item and not a standard decorative product.
The porcelain is hand-decorated in a soft palette (pink, green, blue), characteristic of French productions from the late 19th century.

The metal mount (brass or silvered bronze) displays a beautiful antique patina, with the original hinge and clasp.

Dimensions
Length: 68 mm
Width : 48 mm
Height: 23 mm

Dating:
End of the 19th century – beginning of the 20th century (around 1880–1915)

Materials
Hand-painted porcelain.
Metal frame (brass / silvered bronze)

State
Very good overall condition considering the age.
Normal wear and patina of the frame.
No restoration visible.
Please examine the photographs carefully, which are an integral part of the description.

An authentic Masonic object, with strong symbolic meaning, intended for collectors of Freemasonry, lodge regalia, or antique commemorative keepsakes.
