Description from the seller
Hand-painted using the ancient egg tempera technique on a gessoed wooden panel, with natural pigments and wax, according to the models of the Byzantine tradition.
A seraph is an angel of the highest celestial hierarchy, characterized by six wings that it uses to fly, to cover its face and feet, thus symbolizing humility and reverence before God.
These beings of light are constantly engaged in praise and worship, singing 'Holy, Holy, Holy'.
Created at the Santa Rita Atelier-Termoli by the hand of Rita Bucci, painter and iconographer.
2nd Prize: Byzantine Art in the Hermitages of Gravina, Ed. 2023
