Three Dutch leather-bound Bibles with silver clasps, published by J. Bouwer en de Wed. J. Ratelband e.a., dating 1794 and 1856 with a third Veerman edition, measuring 15 by 10 cm and totaling about 3000 pages in mixed condition.

Lot with 3 Bibles with silver clasps, of which 2 are marked, from respectively 1794 (A), 1856 (B), and without year indication (C).
A. Bible 1794
Magnificent Bible, 1794, leather binding, silver clasp (fin. 833), with maker's mark, in very good condition, with personal data.
Title page
Bible that contains the entire Holy Scripture, including all the Canonical Books of the Old and New Testaments. Faithfully translated from the original languages into our Dutch tongue by the order of the High and Mighty Lords States General of the United Netherlands, and according to the decision of the National Synod held at Dordrecht in the years 1618 and 1619.

Lower panel title page: Noah welcomes the doves after the flood – Noah is on the right-hand side of the lower panel.
Act of Consent – 31 March 1791 – signed by: H.N. Hasselaar and ………… - 1½ pages with De Staaten Generael (in italics) and at the bottom of the page is the 'flyer' EEN instead of the usual RE – Register (rest of the page, without border) – divergent initial (see photo) – between the book Song of Songs and Isaiah no extra 'explanation' – end of the Old Testament ends with a vignette (see photo) – title page of the New Testament placed with both printers one under the other (J. Bouwer and the Widow J.
