AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Beautiful, authentic Delft blue tea caddy made of tin-glazed earthenware (faience), dating ca. 1720–1750.

Rectangular model with a short neck and a metal cap. All around richly hand-painted in cobalt blue:

- one side with a large floral motif,
- silk with a bird in a landscape,
- side with a heraldic shield bearing two rampant lions,
- other side with floral decoration.

Bottom side with a hand-painted blue monogram (stylized letters, possibly 'AG' or related), with a diagonal stroke and two dots underneath; probably a painter's or factory mark from a Delftware pottery/plate factory in the 18th century. Beautiful, even craquelure in the glaze, appropriate to the age.

CONDITION
Antique condition with clear signs of use and aging:

On one upper corner/shoulder there is a clear shard and glaze loss (see close-up photos).
- Small edge chips and glaze wear (fritting) at various corners and along the edges.
- Craquelure over the entire surface.
- Metal cap with signs of wear and discoloration.
- No visible restorations.

Look at all the photos carefully; they form an integral part of the description.

DIMENSIONS
- Height (including cap): 13.5 cm
- Height (without cap): 12 cm
