Description from the seller

Yellow ouraline glass bottle, model “Valambert,” produced by the Cristallerie du Val Saint Lambert and reproduced in the 1908 catalog. This specimen corresponds to size 21, the mark engraved on the original stopper, perfectly matched to the body of the bottle. The piece elegantly illustrates Val Saint Lambert’s decorative production at the turn of the 20th century, a period during which the house virtuously explored colored glass and ornamental shapes inspired both by tradition and by the nascent Art Nouveau.

The bottle presents a balanced and architectural silhouette: a slightly bulging cylindrical body resting on a stable base, topped by a short neck accented by a pronounced shoulder. The molded and cut ornament combines elongated vertical panels alternating with a central frieze of interlaced diamond motifs, evoking a regular, rhythmic lattice. These motifs catch the light and accentuate the glass's visual depth. The stopper, with a flattened spherical shape, is adorned with a faceted diamond-point pattern, echoing the body's proportions and ensuring a perfect aesthetic continuity between the two elements.

The color is particularly striking: a bright uraline yellow, typical of uranium glass, sometimes called uralian glass or vaseline glass. This type of glass is produced by adding small quantities of uranium oxides to the glass composition, giving the material this yellow-green hue, almost solar. Much prized at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century for its singular brilliance and chromatic depth, this glass has the peculiarity of reacting intensely under ultraviolet light (395 nm), emitting a vivid green fluorescence that unambiguously confirms its uranium-containing nature. This chromatic exploration testifies to a strong taste for innovation and for scientific experimentation applied to the decorative arts.

The condition is very satisfactory. There is a very slight internal fracture at the base, with no impact on stability or exterior appearance, partial opacification of the neck, and a tiny, very discreet chip on an edge of the base, hardly perceptible. Aside from these elements, the bottle is in excellent condition, with a beautiful shine and an intact reading of the motifs.

Around 1908, the Val Saint Lambert, founded in Seraing near Liège, had already established itself as one of the great European crystal glassworks, combining technical know-how, aesthetic research, and a varied production ranging from cut crystal to innovative colored glasses. Models such as 'Valambert' illustrate this period of excellence, where the house masters both form, material, and color, embedding its creations in an elegant and enduring modernity.

The dimensions are:
- Total height: 14.5 centimeters,
- Width: 5.3 centimeters,
- Weight: 315 grams.

The bottle and its cap will be individually packaged with great care and shipped promptly in a secure manner. In-store pickup and combined shipping are available. The photos are part of the description.
