Description from the seller
Antique wall mirror – Louis XVI / Napoleon III style – Floral decoration
It features a design on the fisheye glass.
Elegant antique wall mirror, richly decorated with raised floral motifs. It features a carved and stuccoed wooden frame, with a polychrome gilded finish and details in green, blue, and reddish tones. The upper and lateral ornamentation consists of roses, leaves, and ribbons, typical of the late 19th-century French decorative taste, evoking the Louis XVI / Napoleon III style.
The mirror is oval in shape, with a gilded inner frame and original or antique glass (you can see marks and signs of manufacturing typical of the period). The back reveals a traditional wooden-composite construction, with patina and wear consistent with its age.
Condition of preservation
Good overall condition for its age. It shows normal signs of wear and the passage of time: small losses of gilding, wear to the polychromy, and marks on the back. The glass shows signs typical of an antique mirror, not affecting its functionality. All clearly visible in the photographs, which form an essential part of the description.
Era: Late 19th century / early 20th century
Materials: wood putty, glass mirror
Origin: Probably France or Western Europe
Use: decorative and functional
A highly refined decorative piece, ideal for classic interiors, eclectic ones, or to add an antique and romantic touch to any space.
