Vahan Vanian - POP-Xs

POP-Xs is a large-scale abstract painting composed of 320 individually hand-painted square “pixels,” each applied with alternating brushstroke directions to create a tactile surface that contrasts digital structure with physical movement. Inspired by pop art and early digital imagery, the work uses simple square forms to suggest character and emotion beyond pure geometry.

The painting is meant to create a sense of happiness and openness. Through bold colors and abstracted faces, POP-Xs invites viewers to see themselves in the work, allowing the figure to feel universal and emotionally accessible.
