Brandt - Historie van de Rechtspleging gehouden in den jaaren 1618 en 1619 omtrent de drie gevangene heeren Mr. Johan van Oldenbarnevelt, Mr. Rombout Hoogerbeets, Mr. Hugo de Groot. - Rotterdam, Philippus Losel, 1723. 3rd ed. - Contemporary blind-stamped vellum. Title-page printed in red and black. (30), 332, (16) p. Small 4to. Front cover stained, spine damaged, hinges splitting, old address pasted over with letterpress ticket with new address and date. Otherwise internally a fine copy. With: 4 loosely added engravings originating from 'Vaderlandsche historie, vervattende de geschiedenissen der nu Vereenigde Nederlanden' by Jan Wagenaar, published by Isaak Tirion in Amsterdam between 1749-1759. Includes the following engravings: (1) Hugo de Groot zig bereidende tot de vlugt uit de Loevesteinsche gevangenis, in 't jaar 1621. (2) 's Lands Advokaat, Joan van Oldenbarneveltd, op 't Hofschavot in den Haage, gereed om omhalst te worden, in 't jaar 1619. (3) Mr. Hugo de Groot, Raad en Pensionaris te Rotterdam. (4) Mr. Rombout Hogerbeets, Pensionaris van Leiden. Frayed around the edges, otherwise all in very good condition.
