Photo book, 37 x 28 cm. Signed.

Provenance: private collection, Berlin.

David Bailey CBE (born 2 January 1938 in Leytonstone, London) is a British photographer and director who is regarded as one of the most influential fashion and portrait photographers of the 20th century. Bailey became particularly famous for his work in the Swinging Sixties, when he worked for British Vogue and with his spontaneous, direct images revolutionized the style of fashion photography.
Bailey's iconic portraits of models, musicians and film stars – including Jean Shrimpton, Mick Jagger, the Beatles and many others – shaped the visual image of the 1960s and 1970s and made him a chronicler of the cultural upheaval of that era. His work spans fashion, celebrity and documentary photography, characterized by a clear, pared-down style and innovative visual language.
In addition to his photographic work, Bailey also worked as a director for advertising and documentary films and published numerous picture books, including Box of Pin-ups (1965), Goodbye Baby & Amen (1969), and later retrospective collections that document his extensive body of work.
David Bailey is often regarded as an iconic figure in British photography. His work is represented in major collections and exhibitions worldwide and continues to influence generations of photographers.
