Description from the seller
AMA • Pope (1985) - " Aurora Authentic Fake " - 8/30
The only truly authentic fake!
After the undeniable success of the AMA series 'Aurora Borealis', often copied and facing censorship on the pretext of copyright infringement, the artist Pope returns with a creation even more free and provocative.
Since luxury brands want to muzzle artistic expression, here is the flamboyant slap in the face: Aurora Authentic Fake.
A one-of-a-kind pop art lamp, on which you can read in full letters 'DO NOT BUY' and 'FAKE'... That's basically an invitation to bid!
The day, a chrome teddy bear with a futuristic gleam.
At night, an explosion of multicolored auroras that set your walls ablaze.
Two faces, the same irony.
Limited edition of 30 copies for 2025, signed, numbered and delivered with AMA certificate of authenticity.
Fast and careful shipping (bubble wrap, tissue paper and reinforced cardboard) with signature required.
Features :
- 7 bright colors
- 3 diffusion modes (fixed, crossfades, simple transitions)
- Power supply via USB cable with switch (provided)
- Height: 20 cm
- Width: 9 cm
Depth: 9 cm
A collectible object that turns censorship into art, and transforms the 'Aurora Authentic Fake' into a genuine original.
Who is AMA?
Born from the fusion of talents of French artist friends, the AMA collective takes you into its universe blending vibrant colors and diverse materials.
Sculptures, paintings, and installations, the collective passionately employs a multitude of techniques to bring its works to life.
The AMA collective mainly draws its inspiration from the world around it, but also through currents of renowned artists such as Banksy, Keith Haring, Koons, Orlinski, Takashi, Fred Allart, Shepard Fairey, Warhol, Yayoi Kusama, Richard Hamilton, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Alec Monopoly, KAWS, Pantone, Mr. Brainwash, Blek le Rat, to name just a few.
Whether for a gift, a keepsake, or your personal collection of contemporary art, you will easily find your favorite piece thanks to the diversity of our works. Indeed, AMA pursues its passion for urban art through street art and pop art creations (limited edition or not), covering a wide range of themes such as cryptocurrencies (bitcoin, ethereum), the dollar, money, gold, wealth, the sex industry, drug abuse, luxury and haute couture brands, the world of comics and video games, the pharmaceutical industry and medications, recycling and upcycling, as well as products from the agro-food and fashion industries (sports, sneakers...).
Brands guide our choices and often our lives without us realizing it. Aware of this impact, AMA likes to playfully reinterpret labels such as Louis Vuitton (LV), Chanel, Dior, Hermès, Prada, Gucci, Rolex, Yves Saint Laurent (YSL), Supreme, Obey, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, Bugatti, AMG, Mercedes, Nike (Air Jordan), Adidas (Stan Smith), Coca-Cola, Pepsi, Marvel and Avengers (Batman, Joker, Superman...), Disney (Mickey, Scrooge...), Nintendo, Sega, Tintin, Lego, Pokemon, Vans, and many others.
Dear bidders, our team is making every effort to ensure that all the necessary information for evaluating the lot being sold is clearly detailed in the listing: dimensions, weight, description, and photos... After the sale, no unjustified claims will be accepted. Thank you for your understanding.
