Description from the seller
Crystal-cut decanter by Val Saint Lambert, Daxon model, unsigned, vintage era (approximately the 1950s–1960s, mid-century style).
Features :
Height: 28 cm
- Maximum diameter (abdomen): 10 cm
- Lower diameter (base) : 7 cm
Weight: 750 g
Technique: clear crystal double-layered with ruby red (ruby overlay / flashed ruby cut-to-clear), cut into deep geometric motifs (diamond facets / cross chevrons on the body, horizontal and vertical bands for a sparkling effect). Elegant form: long, slender flared neck, flattened spherical body, matching faceted pointed stopper (diamond-cut and polished). Strong contrast between the upper clear crystal and the intense red of the base/body.
Condition: very good – brilliance and clarity intact, no chips, cracks, or visible splits; deep, uniform ruby color, no notable wear on the facets or the cork. Slight traces of normal use for its age (micro-scratches possible, but nothing apparent in the photo).
An elegant and imposing piece from the Daxon model (Val Saint Lambert vintage catalog reference), rare in an unsigned version but perfectly identifiable by its shape, size, and the red doublé typical of mid-century Belgian production. Highly sought after by Val Saint Lambert crystal collectors, ruby cut-to-clear carafes, or enthusiasts of late Art Deco / mid-century glassware for the table or decoration.
Careful shipment.
