Venus de Blachicelli, a 2022 limited edition (22/30) reproduction in mixed media on 60 × 40 cm aluminium dibond, by BLACH (Maxime Blachère), hand-signed with a certificate of authenticity, from France, Contemporary style, Mythology theme, frame not provided.
Description from the seller
In his time, Botticelli risked decapitation. Today, I’m mainly risking a few internet trolls — those who never really understood the original aim of the work.
Let us recall that Botticelli himself was no choirboy. He provoked, twisted, and toyed with the sacred, the secular, the idealized beauty, and the morality of his time.
I merely continued the gesture, five centuries later, with the icons of our era.
Welcome to Venus 2.0
Here, Venus is no longer born from an immaculate shell in an idealized mythological world.
She lands in our contemporary reality, decked out in ultra-identifiable symbols:
a chastity belt (because the female body remains a battlefield),
an iPhone (new mirror of Narcissus),
punk dog costumes.
surveillance cameras (smile, you’re being watched),
a skateboard, some Crocs,
a football from OM (there, we touch the sacred)
some Lidl flip-flops,
a Supreme pair of underwear,
a JBL speaker for the soundtrack of the modern world.
Everything is deliberately excessive, anachronistic, absurd — just like our era.
“VIC Venus de Blachicelli” is a reproduction of an original artwork on ultra-glossy aluminum Dibond, measuring 60 x 40 x 0.3 cm, signed and numbered in a limited edition of 30.
Send with insurance and tracking number.
Certificate of Authenticity hand-signed by the artist.
Careful packaging
Frame not provided.
