1870 first edition by the Rechiedei brothers, with a preface by Giuseppe Garibaldi.
The title was originally supposed to be Clelia, or the government of the priests (or Clelia, i.e., the government of the priests), but was later changed to Clelia. The government of the monk, and printed with this title in the first Italian edition and in the early English editions.
Excellent condition, bound in a hardback with a cloth spine and cloth-covered corners dating from the 19th century.
A political-historical novel, the first and only one written by G. Garibaldi.
