Lidded vase - .800 silver

Elegant decorative vase with lid in red hard stone (probable rhodonite), embellished with mounts and a base in solid silver 800/1000, as indicated by the hallmark visible at the bottom.

The body is made with faceted panels in natural stone with intense red-and-black veining, while the lid is surmounted by a silver putto sculpture, finely modeled, in a Neoclassical taste. The silver parts feature Grecian decorations and chased motifs, typical of European production between the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

The interior of the cup and the lid is also silver.

An object intended for interior decoration, used as a decorative vase or living-room container (pot-pourri), designed for consoles, sideboards, or fireplaces.
