Antique 37 cm silver FOB chain with a round Saint Christopher medal, two functional keys and a solid heraldic lion, dating to ca. 1890–1920 in late Victorian/Edwardian style and tested as sterling silver (925).
Description from the seller
Antique silver fob chain with a religious medal, two functional keys, and a solid heraldic lion, manufactured for the Anglo-Saxon market around the transition from the 19th to the 20th century. The chain is crafted in a classic curb chain and equipped with a T-bar clasp, typical for vest and pocket watch accessories from this period.
A round silver medal is attached to the chain, bearing a clear bas-relief depiction of Saint Christopher carrying the Christ Child. The reverse side is marked “SILVER”, with no additional hallmarks. In addition, two original, functional keys are present, suitable for use as a watch or service fob. The whole is completed by a solidly crafted heraldic lion in rampant pose, a classic symbol in European heraldry that stands for strength and vigilance.
Although the chain has not been officially certified, both the chain and the lion charm have been tested and confirmed as sterling silver (925). The combination of a religious medal, functional keys, and decorative heraldry makes this a particularly complete and collectible object.
