Description from the seller

This charming old vase was designed by Charles Graffart in 1958 and made by Val Saint Lambert in Belgium. The delightful pattern including diamonds as well as diamonds-with-stars in alternate rows, gives a sparkling contrast against a background of prune crystal. Twelve ground panels can be seen at the neck of the vase. The name "Pineau" refers to the shape whereas the vintage name "Gevaert Carlton", refers to an exceptional, magical grinding pattern with stars and diamonds exclusive to Val Saint Lambert. The vase is blown with clear crystal, after which a layer of prune crystal is applied, which is then ground back to create the final design. This doubled crystal process was perfected by Val Saint Lambert and used extensively. Crystal from this famous factory has a high lead content of 33-40%, much higher than the legally required 24%. This extra lead content gives the product extra brilliance and clarity.

The vase is signed on the base "Val St. Lambert" and is in NEAR MINT condition with only light scratching on the base due to movement. A special addition to a glass or crystal collection.

Careful packaging will ensure a safe delivery. See my feedback on Catawiki.
