Description from the seller
Bracelet, platinum, cultured pearls, diamonds and chrysoprase, Art Deco, 40s
Exquisite three-row bracelet of cultured pearls, totaling 60, all measuring 8.5 mm in diameter, arranged in four sections of 15 each. The clasp is a platinum brooch, featuring a geometric structure and openwork, set with brilliant-cut diamonds of varying sizes, a marquise-cut (missing) and a central emerald-cut green gemstone, a chrysoprase.
This brooch serves both a structural and ornamental function, as it becomes the focal point of the piece, something very common in pieces from the 1940s and 1950s. It features a design of intricate bows and leaves radiating from the central stone, a large emerald-cut chrysoprase. Chrysoprase is a gemstone in the chalcedony variety (quartz variation) of deep green color due to small nickel fragments in its structure. It has a hardness of 6–7 on the Mohs scale and is known as the "stone of hope." Contrasts in the clasp and a double safety mechanism. Twelve brilliant-cut diamonds, approximately 0.02 cts each, frame this spectacular brooch, lighting it from its outer edge. Four smaller brilliant-cut diamonds are set, pointing to the vacant space of the marquise-cut diamond. It is kept in its original box.
A timeless, elegant, and sophisticated piece of high jewelry.
