Description from the seller
Isaac
Oil and acrylic on canvas
100 cm x 140 cm (39 inches x 55 inches)
Isaac is a contemporary figurative work that leans into the erotic as something tender, physical, and quietly uncanny.
The central figure of the painting is Isaac. His body stretches across a deep green field, caught in a posture that feels both relaxed and exposed: one leg lifted, the torso turned, the hand hovering near the face as if in a private ritual. The anatomy is rendered with confident simplification: warm, earthen browns shaped by soft shadows and decisive lines, enough to make the body feel present without turning it into mere description.
Where the face should resolve into identity, it is interrupted by a thick, circular intense red disc, painted with visible, sensuous brush rotation. That gesture both censors and intensifies: it removes the possibility of portrait and replaces it with pure signal. The figure becomes anonymous, and therefore more intimate. The viewer is left with body, posture, heat, everything that can be felt, and nothing that can be neatly explained.
The erotic charge in Isaac is direct yet controlled. The work does not perform, it holds a moment. There is a sense of being allowed to look, and simultaneously being kept at a distance, invited into the scene but denied full access to the person inside it. That tension, between availability and refusal, is the painting’s engine.
This original painting by VITYRA is hand-signed on the reverse side to preserve the purity of the artwork’s surface and comes with a certificate of authenticity. The artwork will be shipped rolled in a secure, protective tube, an eco-friendly and safe method that reduces shipping costs and risk of damage. The canvas measures 100 x 140 cm (39 x 55 inches), with an extra 5 cm border on each side for easy re-stretching.
