Impressionist oil painting on cardboard by the Stuttgart Impressionist Erwin Starker. The work is unsigned but has been attributed to the artist by a well-known auction house. Karl Erwin Starker (* February 8, 1872 in Stuttgart; † April 18, 1938 in Ditzingen) was a German landscape painter. His works are considered to be part of Swabian Impressionism.
However, the previous owner believes this painter to be Hermann Pleuer. Hermann Pleuer (* April 5, 1863 in Schwäbisch Gmünd; † January 6, 1911 in Stuttgart) was a Swabian Impressionist and landscape painter.
The painting is in age-appropriate condition in its original frame. Minimal color loss (photo) and some rippling in places.
The size with frame is 32 x 42.5 cm. Without frame it is 27 x 37 cm.
