It is a Japanese blended malt whisky that pays homage to Masataka Taketsuru, founder of Nikka and father of Japanese whisky.
It is a mixture of single malts from the Yoichi and Miyagikyo distilleries, aged for at least 17 years in oak barrels, mainly ex-sherry.
The aromatic profile is complex, with notes of berries, sultanas, dried fruit, vanilla and honey, with a touch of light smoke.
In 2014, he received an award at the World Whiskies Awards.
